56% Pakistanis oppose to celebrate valentine day

Islamabad According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan more than half (56%) of Pakistanis have opposed to celebrating Valentine’s Day.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked “Some people are in favour of celebrating Valentine’s Day whereas others are against it or are indifferent to it. What is your opinion?” Responding to this, 56% said they opposed celebrating Valentine’s Day, 25% said they were indifferent to it and 19% said they were in favour of celebrating Valentine’s Day.

The study was released by Gilani foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2730 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during February 04 to 11 February.
