Islamabad: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 66% Pakistanis believe that Pakistani political talk shows on TV channels provide credible information; 25% believe they spread false news.
A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked “In your opinion, do Pakistani political talk shows broadcasted on different TV channels provide credible information about various politics issues?” Responding to this, 66% said the information provided by talk shows was correct and 25% said they provided misleading news. 9% chose not to respond.
The study was released by Gilani foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2606 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during June 24, 2013 – July 01, 2013. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
