79 % believe Pakistan should cooperate with India in sports,Poll

Islamabad: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, a significant majority of Pakistanis (79%) believe Pakistan should cooperate with India in sports whereas opinions are mixed when it comes to encouraging co-operation in the film industry (48%).

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked “For which of the following activities would you like to see co-operation between India and Pakistan (sports, education, film industry, tourism, agriculture, science and technology)?” Responding to this, 79% said the two countries should co-operate in sports, 64% said in education, 48% said in the film industry, 64% said in tourism, 61% said agriculture and another 61% said there should be co-operation in science and technology.

The study was released by Gilani foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International.

The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2639 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during July 16, 2013 – July 22, 2013. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
