86% believe that the future of Pakistan is secure,Poll

Islamabad: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, overwhelming majority of Pakistanis (86%) believe that the future of Pakistan is secure.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked “Some people are of the opinion that the future of Pakistan is secure whereas others think that it will fall apart.

Do you think that Pakistan will be safe in the next 25 years or will it fall to pieces?” Responding to this, 86% of Pakistanis said that the country’s future is secure, 13% said that it will fall apart and 1% did not respond.

A comparison of answers between provinces revealed that 89% of Punjab, 76% of Sindh, 95% of KPK and 65% of Balochistan believes that the future of Pakistan is secure.

The study was released by Gilani foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2621 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during August 19, 2013 – August 26, 2013. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
