Karachi: Anti-Terrorism Court-I (ATC-I) on Friday remanded alleged target killer Farhat Abbas Zaidi to jail custody till 18 November 2013 in different murder case.
Police produced Farhat in police mobile before ATC-I Judge Bashir Ahmed Khoso under tight security.
According to police, a Gulshan-e-Iqbal police team under the supervision of SSP Syed Peer Mohammed Shah had conducted a raid in Abbas Town on 07 October 2013 and arrested Farhat Abbas Zaidi after a shootout.
“The detained accused told interrogators that he and his associates had murdered Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat spokesperson Maulana Akbar Saeed Farooqi near Safari Park. He had also killed four clerics Dilshakur, Mohammad Umer, Anser and Imran near Siddiq-e-Akber Masjid in Scout Colony, Mobina Town last year. He also killed Rangers personnel on Abul Hasan Ispahani Road after the Abbas Town explosion,” police said.
The FIR was lodged on behalf of the state at Gulshan-e-Iqbal Police Station under Sections 302 (premeditated murder), 34.
