Karachi: The 8th Annual Expo Pakistan, the biggest in the series in terms of number of participants and stands and international buyers is all set to be inaugurated by the President of Pakistan on September 25, 2013.
Organized by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan TDAP this year’s Expo will showcase 550 exhibitors and expects around one thousand foreign buyers from 70 countries to attend. The Expo will feature exhibitors and buyers from USA, Japan, Malaysia, Hong Kong, China, Iran, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, South Korea, Brazil, Poland, Bangladesh, Libya, China, South Africa, Bahrain, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Netherlands, Morocco and UAE among other countries.
The Expo is expected to be inaugurated by the President of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Mamnoon Hussain on September 25 in a ceremony to be held at the Governor’s House, Karachi. It will then be opened to local and international trade visitors for 3 days from September 26 to 28 and for the general public on September 29.
Held annually since the year 2005, the Expo provides a major platform for Pakistani exporters to showcase their products and services to foreign buyers and establish long-term international linkages. According to TDAP, last year’s expo featured 52 countries and had resulted in 70 MoU’s being signed and trade deals and agreements worth over USD 500 million. This year’s Expo is targeting to achieve even better results.
The confirmed representation of foreign buyers and exhibitors at the trade expo highlights the growing interest of the international community in Pakistan as a source of supply for a range of products. The Expo will also feature a series of seminars organized with international organizations for local exhibitors on product diversification and the pathways to access foreign markets.
