KARACHI: Anti-Terrorism Court-III (ATC-III) on Wednesday remanded three alleged Lyari gangsters to police custody till February 26 in a case pertaining to the possession of illegal weapons.
The three suspects, Umair, Waheed and Abdul Qadir, were brought to the court amid tight security.
The investigation officer requested the court for more time to conduct further interrogations.
According to the prosecution, Umair, Waheed and Abdul Qadir were arrested in a raid within remits of Mauripur police station on February 15.
They were subsequently booked in several cases pertaining to the possession of illegal arms and explosive material.
According to police, two hand grenades, some TT pistols were seized from their possession. They were also involved in police encounter, police said.
A case FIR No, (37/2014) was registered against the suspects under Sections 353 (criminal force to deter a public servant from discharge of his duty), 324 (attempted murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code, Section 4/5 of the Explosive Substance Act at the Mauripur police station.
