Bar: AJK SCBA delegation calls on CJP

ISLAMABAD: A 13 member delegation of Supreme Court Bar Association, AJK headed by its President Raja Fazal Hussain Rabani, and comprising other office bearers called on the Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry here n the Supreme Court on Wednesday.

Talking to the delegation, the Chief Justice said that the bench and bar are integral part of the same system and without the active participation of bar the goal of speedy justice at the door step of public at large could not be fulfilled.

Praising the bench and bar of AJK, he said that there was strong and active judiciary in AJK and the Bar was also viable. The Bars of Azad Kashmir also played an effective and courageous role during the period of the lawyers’ movement for independence of judiciary in Pakistan, the Chief Justice added.

The members discussed with the Chief Justice issues and matter of interest of the legal/judicial fraternity. The delegation expressed the hope that under the leadership of Chief Justice the system of administration of justice will further improve and deliver justice to the public at large.

They appreciated his steadfastness, devotion, commitment, determination and efforts for the cause of justice and said that the public have reposed great confidence in the judiciary. They said the Chief Justice was a role model and source of inspiration for the rest of the judiciary.

The delegation paid great tributes to the Chief Justice for his untiring efforts for the Constitutionalism, Rule of Law and independence of judiciary. They also invited him to visit SCBA, AJK at his convenience. The Chief Justice expressed his gratitude and assured them to visit in due course of time.
