Closing Ceremony of Police Training

QUETTA: Balochistan Governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai has said that our country particularly our province was passing through very crucial period with regard to law and order situation. Several foreign elements were active and some elements from our country were supporting them for their interests.

He was addressing Closing Ceremony of Police Training in Balochistan by Pakistan Army held in Quetta Cantt which was hosted by Commander Southern Command Lieutenant General Nasser Khan Janjua Friday.

Deputy Speaker Balochistan Assembly Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, Ministers Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal, Hamid Khan Achakzai, MPA Obaidullah Babat, IG FC Balochistan, IG Police, Secretary for Home & Tribal Affairs and a large gathering of senior civil and military officers were present on the occasion.

Pakistan Army’s Southern Command in Quetta organized eight week long specialized training in anti-terrorism for 200 personnel of Police and Balochistan Constabulary which was successfully concluded today. Earlier in 2013 also, 200 personnel of Police and Balochistan Constabulary were trained by Southern Command.

Governor said maintaining peace and order under such a situation is very major challenge an Balochistan police is in the forefront to face this challenge. He said earlier 240 policemen have acquired basic and advanced training from Pak Army. Today is passing out parade of second badge and he was proud to see the morale of jawans. He said we all have to maintain law and order in the country. Balochistan has big responsibility in this regard. He expressed the hope that Balochistan Police would discharge this important task very amicably and these jawans who have acquired training from Pak Army would become beacon light for their colleagues.

Governor appreciated the efforts and thanked Pakistan Army for conducting an excellent training for Police and Balochistan Constabulary. He congratulated the participants of the course and urged them to maintain the high standard of training they have achieved.

Commander Southern Command Lieutenant General Nasser Khan Janjua in his speech at closing ceremony underlined the need of highest level of training of law enforcement agencies owing to the challenging security environments in Balochistan. He said that Pakistan Army has undertaken the responsibility of enhancing the capacity of Police force and the high quality training for both Police and Rapid Response Group of Balochistan Constabulary is part of the effort. He lauded the enthusiasm of the trainees who participated in the course and added that now the trained and motivated Police can look into the eyes of the terrorists and defeat them. General Nasser also appreciated the efforts of training teams of 33 Division, 41 Division and SSG. He highlighted that besides training, Pakistan Army has handed over modern weapons and ammunition to Balochistan Police to enhance their capacity.

At the end of the ceremony, Governor Balochistan handed over individual prizes on best performance to the valiant soldiers of Police and Balochistan Constabulary. Head Constable Zafar Iqbal was awarded overall first position trophy.
