Peshawar: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has said directed the high ups of all the provincial departments to take necessary and effective measures to ensure the implementation of the quota reserved for minorities and disabled persons in government jobs.
He has further directed the authorities to separately advertise the number of posts reserved for minorities and disabled person out of the total number of posts created in the annual financial budget, and also ensure the recruitment of minorities and disable people against the reserved
He issued these directives during a briefing given to him by the authorities of social welfare, women development and special education department at his office on Wednesday. The Chief Minister was briefed about the overall performance of the department, special initiatives for the welfare of women and children, various welfare centers, future plans, recommendations of the working group, problems and weakness and other various matters of the department.
The Chief Minister directed the high ups of the department to prepare a comprehensive, result oriented and feasible strategy for the rehabilitation of drug addicted people; and to submit a working paper to enhance the capacity of the rehabilitation centers in this regard. He also directed the authorities of the department to prepare small schemes to the welfare of women and children all over the province costing Rs.100 million in all.
The Chief Minister principally agreed to the proposal of establishing a centre of excellence under the social welfare department at Hayatabad Peshawar and directed the concerned quarters to finalize all the necessary formalities and submit a case for formal approval. It was decided on the occasion that non-functional hostels of working women at various districts of the province will be rehabilitated to be used for the accommodation of female government employees.
Besides special assistant to chief minister on social welfare and women development, Dr. Mehar Taj Roghani, Secretary Social welfare, Humayun Khan, Principal Secretary to chief minister, Ashfaq Khan, Director social welfare, Manzoor Khan and other relevant quarters attended the briefing.
