Court: IHC rejects petition seeking Musharraf’s name in ECL

Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court has rejected petition seeking to put the name of former President Pervez Musharraf in the exit control list (ECL).

Petitioner in Abdul Rasheed Ghazi murder case‚ Haroon Rasheed stated that Musharraf’s name should be put in the ECL as it has been learnt that he intends to leave for Dubai before Eid.

The SC on Wednesday granted bail to former president Pervez Musharraf in the murder case of former Balochistan chief minister and chieftain of the Bugti tribe Nawab Muhammad Akbar Bugti. Meanwhile‚ Musharraf has been arrested in the murder case of Abdul Rasheed Ghazi.

The case was registered against him on September 02 on the directions of the Islamabad High Court (IHC). A court in Islamabad has given 14 days judicial remand of former President Pervez Musharraf in Ghazi Rashid murder case. Pervez Musharraf was exempted from appearance in the court due to security reasons.
