DC visits katcha areas

HYDERABAD: Deputy Commissioner Matiari Fayaz Hussain Abbasi visited affectees of katcha area of Khando and distributed tents and food bags among victims.

Talking to media, Deputy Commissioner said that on directives of Sindh Minister for Revenue, Relief & Rehabilitation Makhdoom Jamiluzzaman, 70 tens and 70 food bags were distributed among flood victims. He further said that few days back, he visited the affectees of village Mohammad Khan Machi and distributed 100 tents and 100 food bags.

Briefing about the arrangements regarding relief in Katcha area, he informed that nine relief camps have been made functional in government schools of district. He said that there were 32 villages in katcha area of Matiari district, 11 in Hala, 12 in Matiari and 9 in new Saeedabad. Deputy Commissioner Matiari informed that 80% people of katcha area of Hala have been shifted to safe sides, 20% of Saeedabad and 15% people of Matiari have been shifted to safe sides.

He further said that the tent villages will be established in district where all facilities will be provided to displaced people. Assistant Commissioner Hala Sanaullah Sadar was also present at that occasion.
