Peshawar: The DFID in Pakistan has assured the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to fully support the PTI led coalition government initiative of Strategic Development Partnership Framework SDPF.
This assurance was given in a meeting by a delegation of DFID which called on the Chief Minister Parvez Khattak at the Pakhtunkhwa House Sunday evening. Provincial Minister for Education Mohammad Atif, Additional Chief Secretaries, Khalid Parvez and Sahibzada Mohammad Saeed, Secretaries Elementary and Secondary Education, Health and PE&DD also participated in the meeting.
The Chief Minister informed the delegation in detail about the initiatives of the PTI led coalition government in KP which included each and everything based on transparency as is clear from the recently promulgated Right To Information
Ordinance, devolution of responsibilities and power under a model local government system where not only power and authority but at the minimum 50 per cent funds will also be devolved not only to the districts but down to the village.
Such devolution, the Chief Minister revealed also include school and hospital based appointments of teachers, doctors and other hospital staff and the districts having the hire and fire authorities of such and other staff in their respective areas of jurisdiction.
The Chief Minister also stated on this occasion that an independent accountability commission with authority even to lay hand on the chief minister will soon by appointed in the Province. He also revealed as soon as the new local government
laws are enacted, work over a Provincial Finance Commission shall also be initiated and will be acted upon from the next financial year.
The members of the delegation appreciated these initiatives and assured that the British funded DFID will fully support it so that the basic problems of the people of the Province are resolved.
