District: Well organized inter district gang busted

Sialkot: The Sialkot Cant, police on Tuesday busted a well organized inter-district gang of nomad people involved in making children beggars after their abduction. The police have also recovered as many as eight children, made beggar after their abduction and indulged into the curse of begging by some nomad families , as the children were kept their in nomad cottages along various roads in Sialkot Cantt.

SP Investigation Sialkot Asad Sarfraz Khan told media persons that on a tip off, the Cantt police raided on the nomad cottages located along the busy roads in Sialkot Cantt here today and recovered as many as eight children, which had been made beggars and forcibly got indulged into begging after their abduction by the nomads.

These children turned beggars were in very miserable condition, saying that three such other children were shifted to Govt. Allama Iqbal Memorial DHQ Hospital Sialkot due to their critical mental and physical condition, as all the children were brutally tortured by the accused nomads for less begging as per their daily routine. The children had lost their recognition, as they had been given their nick names against their original names.

SP Investigation Sialkot added that the police have also arrested as many as 27 nomad accused including 14 female nomads directly or indirectly involved in this illegal and nasty practice.

The accused were produced before the newsmen , who confessed that they used to kidnap the minor children from Sialkot, Daska, Pasrur, Shakargarh, Narowal, Wazirabad, Gujrat, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahaud Din, Gujranwala , Lahore and surrounding areas and later they forced them for begging after forcibly damaging their different body parts.

A special task of begging income was daily given to these begging children under the supervision of their special monitors, as these children were used to begin different residential, commercial, industrial and posh of Sialkot city and Sialkot Cantt as well.

The accused added that the nasty practice was being done by them since long. They used to keep these “hostaged” children turned baggers at their nomad cottages located at Sialkot Cantt and other urban and surrounding areas of Sialkot city as well.

The children were also often tortured badly there for less begging. The children were also not in good health due to food paucity, as they were also mostly kept hungry or given less foods as per their desire and hunger there.
