KARACHI: District West Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested 19 accused during different raids in the city and recovered hand grenades, rocket shells, arms, ammunition, looted goods and hashish.
A police report said that on the directives of SSP district west Asif Ejaz Shaikh, Docks, Pak colony, Madina colony, Saeedabad and Etihad Town police conducted different raids against dacoits and street criminals, and arrested seven accused Khan Badshah alias Badshah, Nooruddin, Khursheed, Waseem Gul, Muhammad Ibrar, Muhammad Irshad and Muhammad Kamran and recovered seven pistols, seven magazines, 35 cartridges and stolen goods.
Pirabad and Docks police arrested two accused Muhammad Zahid and Asif Ali in drugs peddling cases and recovered some rods of hashish from their possession.
Jackson, SiteA and SiteB police conducted different raids and arrested six absconders wanted in illegal arms, drugs and other cases.
Manghopir police conducted a raid and arrested four hardened criminals after police encounter and recovered six hand grenades, one rifle, two repeaters, two rocket shells, three batteries, detonator wire, five pistols, seven magazines, and one packet of ball bearings and some cartridges. Police have started conducting raids to arrest other members of their gangs on their indications.
