Sialkot: Federal Minister for Science and Technology Zahid Hamid distributed financial compensation cheques of Rs. 5 million amongst as many as 239 flood affectees of Pasrur tehsil during a ceremony held at Pasrur.
MPA Ch. Munawar Ali Gill, Assistant Commissioner Pasrur Ch. Touqeer Ilyas Cheema, Chairman Planning and development Committee Pasrur Prof. Shehzad Butt and PML-N Pasrur leaders Khawaja Saeed Butt and Javaid Iqbal Ghumman were also present on this occasion.
Zahid Hamid announced to soon distribute the financial cheques among the Pasrur tehsil based Indian intensified shelling victims and he pledged to fulfil all the political promises made to the people on priority basis besides removing all the hurdles from the way of smooth and easy provision of all the basic amenities to the people at their doorsteps for raising their living standard.
Federal Minister added that the Punjab government has given Rs. 30000 each to those flood affectees whose houses were completely damaged and Rs. 15000 each to those whose were partially damaged by the recent floods in Narowal district.
He said that the PML-N government has yet given billions of rupees as financial compensation to the thousands of the flood affectees in different district of Punjab, saying that the PML-N government did not leave the people of flood hit areas alone in Punjab, in this regard.
He said that the Punjab government has yet spent Rs. 600 million on the rehabilitation of the flood affectees, saying that as many as 109 people were killed in the recent flash flood across Punjab and the Punjab government had also paid Rs. 0.5 million each as financial compensation.
