Doctors in Daska call off strike after arrest of accused

SIALKOT: In Daska, the protesting doctors, called off their strike after the arrest of as many as six accused by Daska City police in famous case of humiliation of a local doctor by some armed accused, besides, torturing doctor and blackening his face with black polish at his private hospital few days ago.

A delegation of the protesting doctors led by Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed Chaudhary DDO Health Daska, today, called on Assistant Commissioner Daska at his office and they announced to call of their three-day long strike.

Assistant Commissioner Daska Zulfiqar Ahmed Bhoon told that the doctors have called off their strike and “now issue is resolved”. He said that Daska City police have arrested as many as six accused nominated in this case and making raids at various places for the early arrest of the rest accused.

In Daska, all the private hospitals and clinics had been observing the strike after shuttering down their private hospitals and clinics since Friday, demanding the stern legal action against the accused for attacking on the private hospital of Dr. Arshad Saroya, thrashing him, torturing him, besides, blackening his face with black polish there few days ago, while protesting against the death of wife of the one of the attacker, who had died allegedly by the negligence of the doctors during her delivery operation in the said private hospital.

Local patients suffered from great ordeal, as they were being shifted to Gujranwala and Sialkot for getting emergency medical treatment due to private hospital’s strike there in Daska, which remained continued for two days.
