Early recovery of a tribal student demanded

Peshawar: Khyber Students Union KSU on Wednesday appealed to Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and political administration for early safe recovery of a tribal student, Muhammad Haroon Afridi of Government College Peshawar.

They threatened that if the abducted student was not recovered within three days they along with thousands of students would block Torkham highway for general public.

Holding banners and placards inscribed with different slogans of early recovery of the kidnapped student, the protesting demonstrators gathered opposite Cantonment Railway Station near Peshawar Press Club.

Muslim Khan Afridi, central president, KSU and Naikmat Shah Afridi, general secretary were leading the demonstrators.
Talking to reporters they said Haroon had been abducted by some unidentified person on 5th January 2013 from Shahkas area of Khyber Agency.

They expressed grave concern over law and order situation in the area and alleged that Khasadar forces had failed to maintain peace in the area as crimes ratio in the area had increased due to which kidnapping for ransom had become common and students were reluctant to go to their educational institutions.

They added that they had met with Political Agent of the agency in this regard but no avail while the relatives of the kidnapped student worry for his safe recovery.
