ECP: ECP issues new guidelines for smooth peaceful conduct of general elections

Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued new guidelines for smooth and peaceful conduct of the general elections. Under the new guidelines‚ candidates will not seek votes in the name of religion or sect.

As per reports, Providing transport to voters to take them to polling stations would be a crime. No voter can take ballot paper out of polling station. Forced eviction of voters from polling stations will be considered a crime.

Candidates cannot establish polling camps within 4 hundred yards of polling stations. Meanwhile‚ Election Commission has made foolproof security measures to prevent misuse of ballot papers during and before polling day.

The Commission has used exclusive green and white colours as well as paper of special grammage and quality for the ballot papers as security features. Ballot papers will also have serial numbers on the pattern of currency notes and prize bonds.
