ECP ready to hold general elections, says Ishtiaque Ahmad

Islamabad: Secretary Election Commission of Pakistan ECP Ishtiaque Ahmad Khan on Wednesday said that the ECP was ready to hold general elections2013.

He stated this while talking to media persons after a meeting of the Election Commission of Pakistan chaired by Chief Election Commissioner Fakhruddin G Ibrahim held here to discuss the procedure relating to the scrutiny of nomination papers of the contesting candidates.

He said that there were some legal snags in the scrutiny of nomination papers. He said that the implementation of Articles 62, 63 of the constitution would be ensured. He said during the meeting the State Bank of Pakistan and the FBR assured all out cooperation in the electoral process.
