Extraordinary security ordered on Bhittai Urs

Karachi: Inspector General of Sindh Police Fayyaz Ahmad Laghari Wednesday ordered Sindh Police to ensure extraordinary security on the occasion of 269th Urs of Sufi Saint Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai (RA).

He asked beefing up of security on all the roads leading towards the shine at Bhitshah and surrounding areas as a large number of devotees are expected to visit the shrine.

He also ordered to deploy policemen as well as plainclothes at check points and increase mobile patrolling and snap checking. He also ordered effective arrangements of setting up pickets on roads.

He said that sweeping through the bomb disposal squared (BDS) should be ensured of the shrine compound and parking areas be set up at a safe distance from the shrine.

He ordered that all-out security measures should be taken and swift action be taken on information about any suspicious bag, person, activity and vehicle in the area. He asked to keep on close vigil on makeshift tea stalls and eateries at roadside in the area.
