Islamabad: Three day Gem exhibition will start here today (Friday) organized by Pakistan Gem and Jewellery Development which is a subsidiary of Pakistan Industrial Development Corporation.
The gem industry across the country will showcase variety of gems and its glittering products at a 3-day Islamabad Gem Exhibition beginning at a local hotel.
The exhibition will be inaugurated by federal secretary ministry of production Gul Muhammad Rind on Friday while Senator Semeen Siddiqui chairperson of PGJDC will dilate on the potential of the gem industry.
On display at the exhibition will be precious stones, mineral specimens, ornamental stones, beads gemstone carvings, gem stone made-ups, said the Chief Executive Officer of PGJDC Bakhtiar Khan in a statement.
He said last year about eighty exhibitors had displayed their products during the gem exhibition to a targeted audience of Business to Business and Business to Customers and locals who had evinced keen interest in variety of products.
In addition to local people, organizers are expecting that diplomats of different countries, dignitaries, representatives of trade bodies, associations, and chambers would be amongst the visitors of the event.
The main purpose of the event, he said, was to highlight Pakistani gems and related products in the most versatile manner as there would be special table arrangement for all exhibitors to showcase their products for enabling the visitors to have a close look at the products, it said.
