KARACHI: Inspector General (IG) Sindh Police Fayyaz Ahmed Laghari on Friday chaired a high level meeting at Central Police Office and reviewed the performance of operations, investigation, crime branch and criminal investigation department police.
He issued directives for assigning special responsibilities to plainclothes policemen deployed in sensitive and crime-hit areas. He said that timely actions should be ensured in the light of intelligence reports obtained from special branch and other law enforcement agencies.
The IG stressed the need to ensure result-oriented actions by all the units of police with proper mutual coordination so as to eradicate crimes. He said senior police officials should be given responsibilities to directly monitor security steps through central command and control centre, besides boosting coordination with police stations coming into the range of surveillance cameras at the Command and Control Centre.
He said there should be strict checking system at the entry points linked with other provinces. Picketing and police patrolling should be ensured on main and link roads in every big city of the province.
Additional IGs Special Branch Rasool Bux Saand and CID Ghulam Shabbir Sheikh, DIGs Headquarters Sindh Captain (retd) Tahir Naveed, Operations Naeem Sheikh, Zonal DIGs, SSPs AVCC, ACLC and SIU and other senior police officers were also present at the meeting.
