IGP orders security for school students, staff

KARACHI: Taking notice of media reports published in some sections of the press that All Private Schools Management Association Sind has shown concern about security of children. Inspector General of Police IGP Sind Fayyaz Ahmed Laghari on Tuesday directed the Zonal Deputy Inspector Generals DIGs to compile the data of schools and obtain their contact numbers for security purposes.

He urged all police stations concerned to make strict security arrangements around the schools in lights suggestions/ recommendations of school administration after holding meetings with them. He instructed officers to obtain daily security measurement reports from area police stations on daily basis.

IGP directed to expedite patrolling and surveillance during school timing for the safety of schools administration, teachers and school going children. He stressed the importance for presence of police stations, SP office and police emergency numbers in all schools with consultation of administration in order to provide timely assistance during any kind of emergency.

He took serious notice of the news published in some sections of the press about the kidnapping/killing of girls and directed AIG Karachi to submit detail report about interrogation, arrest and nonarrest of criminals along with steps taken by police for proper proceeding of these cases in courts.

He directed the police for comprehensive security arrangements, including intelligence collection, surveillance and information sharing against anti-state elements, in slum areas of Karachi in order to take timely action against such criminals.
