KARACHI: Inspector General of Police IGP Sindh Shahid Nadeem Baloch on Monday reviewed overall law & order situation and investigation breakthroughs about resent bomb blasts in Karachi.
The meeting was chaired by IGP at Central Police Office. Additional IG Karachi Iqbal Mehmood, Zonal DIGs, AIG Operation Sindh, DIGs of CID, Special Branch and Crime Branch were also present at the meeting.
It was informed in meeting that police was taking all possible steps for enforcing security code of conduct issued by Election Commission of Pakistan and also implementing section 144, while all police stations were in contact with administration for removal of wall chalking in the city.
It was informed that extraordinary security arrangements had been made by police and rangers for election candidates and voters under election contingency plan at district and zonal levels.
IGP Sindh reviewed the security arrangements for election candidates of religious, political parties and also at election offices. IGP further issued important directives in this regard.
Additional IG Karachi told the meeting that steps were being taken to arrest criminals in troubled areas through proper surveillance, intelligence collection and sharing system.
