IGP seeks report on kidnapping of school going children

KARACHI: Inspector General of Police IGP Sindh, Fayyaz Ahmad Laghari, on Friday showed concern over the news published in some sections of the press about the kidnapping of schoolgoing children for ransom, and directed Additional Inspector General AIG Karachi to submit detailed report in this regard.

He further instructed the Zonal DIGs to obtain information/ reservation of about the security of children after holding meetings with provincial education department and central association of private schools.

IGP directed AIG Karachi to compile the data of van drivers, peons and other schools’ staff with consultation of parents of school going children and other eminent personalities through Zonal DIGs and relevant police stations.

He further directed to expedite police patrolling and surveillance for the protection of administration, teachers and school going children during school hours. He asked to upgrade lists of schools at zonal level in order to make effective security measures under mutual contacts.
