International moot to remember Qazi

Lahore: An international conference in memory of veteran leader and former Ameer of the Jamaat e Islami, Qazi Husain Ahmed, is being held in Lahore on Sunday.

Delegates from Turkey, Sudan, Tunis and other countries will attend the moot. These include Turkish Saadat Party President, Mostafa Kamalak, Tunis’s Nehzart movement chief, Sheikh Rashidul Ghinoushi, son of former Turkish Prime Minister Najmuddin Orbakan, Fateh Orbakan, and Sudan’s former Information Minister Dr Kamal Obaid.

The conference will also have a national session. Speakers at the national session will include Difa e Pakistan Council DPC president Maulana Samiul Haq, Jamaat Al Dawa chief, Prof. Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, Mufti Muhammad Rafi Usmani, Maulana Muhammad Ahmed Ludhianvi, Prof. Sajid Meer, Lt Gen. rtd Hamid Gul, Tehrik e Insaf chief, Imran Khan, Maulana Muhammad Hanif Jalandhari, Dr Abul Khair Zubair, Hafiz Husain Ahmed, Awais Noorani, Maulana Abdul Ma’lik.

Veteran Kashmir leader Syed Ali Gilani, will address the moot via telephone.

Meanwhile, a Turkish delegation called on the Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hasan, at Mansoora Saturday evening to express its condolences over the sad demise of Qazi Husain Ahmed.
