JI concerned on Aafia attack

Karachi: Acting Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami JI Karachi chapter Birjees Ahmed has expressed serious concern on reports of attack on Pakistani mother Dr Aafia Siddiqui in a US prison and asked the new Pakistani government to take its notice.

He said the maltreatment being meted out to Dr Aafia is negation to the human rights. He said the news of attack on Aafia has disturbed the whole nation. He asked the government to take action against those who had trafficked Dr Aafia and her children and illegally handed them to the US authorities. He hoped that the sacrifices rendered by Dr Aafia would not go wasted.
