JI demands end to unannounced loadshedding

Karachi: Former Jamaat-e-Islami JI lawmakers demanded of the government and KESC management to take immediate notice of unannounced loadshedding in city.

In a joint statement issued here on Wednesday, JI former legislators including Muzaffar Ahmed Hashmi, Laeeq Khan, Nasrullah Shajih, Younus Barai and Hameedullah Khan Advocate expressed their deep concern on 8 to 10 hours unannounced loadshedding in different areas on daily basis.

They strongly condemned the prolonged power outage in scorching summer and said that the KESC management has completely failed to ensure relief to the people of the city.

“The people are staging demonstrations in different areas due to prolonged power outage during day and night while the patients in hospitals are also suffering in mental agony and operations are also being delayed due to power outages in hospitals”, they added.

JI former lawmakers feared that the law and order situation may be created as the enrage people have already staged protest demonstrations and damage the public property. They further urged the government and KESC management to take serious steps towards the redressal of the power shortage in the city.
