JI prefers seat adjustment to poll alliances

Karachi: Jamaat-e-Islami JI will prefer seat adjustments to electoral alliances in the next general elections. This was stated by Zafar Jamal Baloch, Nazim JI Central Election Cell while addressing a meeting of JI office-bearers held at Idara-e-Noor Haq on Monday.

JI Karachi chief Muhammad Hussain Mehanti, General Secretary Naseem Siddiqui, naib ameers Barjees Ahmed, Raja Arif Sultan, Nasrullah Shajih, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, Dr Muhammad Wasay Shakir and Syed Muhammad Iqbal were also present.

Baloch confirmed that the JI will participate in the general elections with the electoral symbol ‘Tarazu’ balance and its own party flag. He said that the upcoming elections will play a vital role for the future of the country. “The public representatives of JI with their honesty and trustworthiness can change the fortune of the people as they had done it in the past.

Muhammad Hussain Mehanti said his party is in contact with other political parties regarding seat adjustment and will make the announcement soon after finalising the list of candidates for Karachi.

He reiterated that the JI with the help of the people will not allow ‘thapa mafia’ to get success in their nefarious designs in next general elections.

Mehanti urged upon the Election Commission to play its due role for holding transparent elections by conducting proper security arrangements of polling stations.
