Journalists stage sit-in for implementation of 8th Wage Board Award, security

Islamabad: Journalists staged a sit-in in front of Parliament House on Monday demanded proper security for them and implementation of 8th Wage Board Award. Sit-in was held under the aegis of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists PFUJ.

Large number of journalists, representatives of different political parties, civil society, trade unions and lawyers were participated in the sit-in. On the occasion representatives of the journalist’s community have demanded immediately arrest of target killers involved in journalists killing incidents and compensation to the families of martyred journalists.

They also demanded proper implementation of 8th Wage Board Award. Families of martyred journalists have also participated in sit-in. President Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists PFUJ Parwez Shaukat, PFUJ Secretary General Amin Yousuf, President RIUJ Waqar Satti, Secretary General RIUJ Bilal Dar, President National Press Club NPC Farooq Faisal Khan and Sectary NPC Sharyar Khan were also addressed on the occasion.
