Justice sought in ‘extra-judicial killing’ case

KARACHI: Retired police constable Haji Bashir Burfat said on Monday that extra-judicial killing of his son Javed Burfat on 4 February 2014 was great atrocity with him. Addressing a press conference at Karachi Press Club, he appealed to all government institutions to help provide justice to him in extra-judicial killing of his son.

He said that there was no any criminal record reported against his son despite that he was picked up by the law-enforcement agencies in Karachi and were tortured to death. He said that his son was a personal security guard of MQM leader Saleem Shahzad and a worker of MQM since 14 years. Bashir asked the Supreme Court to take suo moto notice of the killing of his son. He said that he would soon approach Sindh High Court and Supreme Court for justice.
