KESC disconnects, reconnects 2 PR colonies

Karachi: Karachi Electric Supply Company KESC on Monday, disconnected the power supply to the two residential colonies belonging to Pakistan Railways near the Kalapul and Ghass Bandar areas and one residential colony belonging to the Sindh Prisons Department in the city for non-payment of electricity bills.

Subsequently the power supply to the two PR Colonies was restored, after an undertaking was submitted by the DE Railways to clear the outstanding dues within fortnight.

KESC also disconnected residential colony and administration block of DIG Prisons for non-payment of accumulated outstanding dues of Rs. 1,344,216. The remaining defaulting connections belong to Central Jail, Landhi Jail, Judicial Complex and other buildings of the Prisons Department which has to pay accumulated amount of over Rs. 20.66 Million to KESC.
