A delegation of entrepreneurs from the community of Makkah region visited Tuesday the headquarters of the Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA).
The delegation was received by Assistant Director General Zayed Abdullah and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of UNA Training Center Eng. Zuhair Azhar.
The Assistant Director welcomed members of the delegation, who then toured the Union's Arabic, English, and French editorial departments. They also inspected the Union's Training Center and was briefed on its facilities to provide specialized training courses for journalists all over the world.
Abdullah praised the unlimited support of the government of Saudi Arabia (the host country), provided by the Ministry of Media and Minister Dr. Awwad Al-Awwad, who also serves as the chairman of the Union's Executive Board.
For his part, Eng. Zuhair Azhar noted the Center's keenness to contribute to the awareness and dissemination of culture in the Islamic world, pointing out that "there are many projects the center will announce in 2019 at its official launch."
The delegation was briefed on the efforts of the Union and its current activities and future programs. They also listened to the briefing about the cooperation and partnerships of the Union with a number of organizations, institutions, and even individuals, all of which aimed at improving the Union's work to better serve the Islamic Ummah.
The delegation discussed means of cooperation with the Union in the field of media, whether through training Saudi journalists in the Union's training center or by benefitting from the Union's expertise in a number of initiatives, activities, and events.
