Islamabad: Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq met Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Second Deputy Premier, Advisor and Special Envoy of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in Riyadh on Tuesday according to a message received from Saudi Arabia.
During the meeting, they exchanged cordial talks and discussed a number of issues of common interest between the two brotherly countries and ways of strengthening relations.
Referring to the immemorial brotherly ties with Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, the Speaker said that both the countries were intertwined in religious and cultural bonds which have gained strength due to the commitment of ruling hierarchies on either side.
He said that Pakistan greatly values Saudi support during natural calamities and crisis in Pakistan. He hailed the decision on granting amnesty to illegal Pakistani workers for getting their status legalized.
He said that remaining illegal Pakistani workers may also be regularized and legalized among others.
The Speaker apprised the Deputy Premier about his talks with his Saudi Counterpart. He informed that they have agreed to endorse a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to boost cooperation in the field of parliamentary affairs and foster high-level parliamentary exchanges.
He said that both sides have agreed to expand friendly exchanges, share experiences and learn from each other’s experience, as the two legislative bodies have different specialized panels including a committee on Kashmir at the National Assembly of Pakistan.
Hailing the robust growth of the bilateral relations in the past several decades, Prince Muqrin assured the Speaker about the personal commitment of Custodian of the Holy Mosques to further strengthen relations with Pakistan.
He said that Saudi Arabia strongly desires to see a prosperous, stable and economically vibrant Pakistan.
He said that Saudi Arabia will extend all-out support to Pakistan in diverse fields. He said that energy, agriculture, economic and vocational training sectors have vast potential for collaboration between both the countries.
