Islamabad: Felicitating the members over the passage of Fair Trial bill, 2012, Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf said this bill gives a clear message to the terrorists that the whole nation is united against them.
He said the entire country is in the grip of terrorism which has not only destroyed the fabric of our society but also maligned us in the international community.
This is not an issue of one political party but that of the entire nation. The bill passed today is aimed at crushing the terrorists.
He said this bill also gives a message to entire world that we want to strengthen our security agencies in order to achieve success in the war against terrorism.
Appreciating the sacrifices of security forces in the war against terrorism, the Prime Minister said that they have always confronted the challenges with courage and resilience.
The entire nation stands by their security forces with the resolve that the terrorists will not be allowed to distort the image of Pakistan.
He clarified that this bill is not against the citizens but for their protection. He expressed the confidence that this legislation will help free our society from the shackles of terrorism.
Agreeing to the concerns of the opposition leader Ch. Nisar Ali Khan on the bill, he said there is always room for improvement. He said the Parliament will use its wisdom in future as well to ensure further improvement in this bill.
He said terrorists are not friends but enemies of Pakistan. He said Pakistani nation recognize their faces. Condemning the attacks on polio workers he said these dark forces did not even spare the polio vaccination teams who were carrying out a noble cause to administer the polio drops to the children.
