New Zealand PM Jacinda Ardern announces to step down

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has announced to step down on the 7th of next month.

Talking to media, Jacinda Ardern said she will not contest general elections scheduled for 14th of October.

Jacinda Ardern became the youngest female head of government in the world when she was elected Prime Minister in 2017, aged 37.

The ruling New Zealand Labour Party will vote for a new leader on Sunday.
