Non-arrest of Wasan in murder case: Shutterdown strike observed in Khairpur

KHAIRPUR: A shutterdown strike was observed in the city on Sunday on the call of PMLF against the non-arrest of PPP MNA Nawab Khan Wassan.

All markets, business centers, hotels, petrol pumps, CNG stations and shops remained closed in the city. Tense prevailed across the city due to strike and protest.

It may be noted that Wasan escaped Anti-Terrorism Court ATC Khairpur on Saturday after the court rejected his bail application and ordered police to arrest him. Later, the court issued arrest warrants against Wasan in Abdul Wahab Moorejo murder case. A big rally was also taken in the city that demanded immediate arrest of Wasan and justice to the victim family.

DIG Police Sukkur Range took notice of riots in the city. He suspended and arrested three inspectors, including SHO A section Zulfiqar Ali Qureshi, Inspector CIA Shabir Jamali and Inspector investigation Muhammad Amin Pathan. He also sent them to lockup of A section police station for showing negligence in their duties.
