Northern Balochistan receives more snowfall, rains

QUETTA: Northern area of Balochistan including Quetta Valley received more snowfall Thursday. Several roads and routes were blocked due to snow and dozens of vehicles stranded. According to details northern areas of Balochistan including Ziarat, Kozhak Top, Toba Achakzai, Toba Kakari, Kan Mehterzai, Rod Mallazai. Roads were closed due to snow at several places where dozens of vehicles were stranded. It caused difficulties for the people particularly drivers.

Land route between Pakistan and Afghanistan via Quetta-Chaman highway was suspended due to heavy snowfall at Kozhak Top.

Due to record rains and in Quetta Valley since last evening, sewerage system was badly disturbed. It caused problems for pedestrian and vehicular traffic. Valley also received snowfall during the day but this snow could not settle on the ground in the city. However mountains around Valley were recovered with layers of snow.

Stagnant dirty water on roads badly affected people. Rain water entered civil hospital and other places. It also caused problems for the patients at the hospital.

Frequent electricity outages and low gas pressured added to the miseries of the people

Minimum temperature recorded here Thursday was minus 1 Celsius and maximum 11 Celsius. Met Office has predicted scattered rain with snowfall over the hills in Kalat, Quetta and Zhob Divisions.
