Opposition’s anti-govt move will not succeed: Fawad

Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Chaudhry Fawad Hussain says opposition parties would not succeed in any move against the government.

Addressing a news conference in Lahore on Saturday, he said there is no possibility of tabling of a no-confidence move by opposition parties as neither they had required numbers nor public support.

He said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government is following an independent and balanced foreign policy based on equal relations with all major countries including the United States and Russia.

He said Pakistan had always declared that use of military was never a solution to any dispute and it had also spoke in the United Nations that Russia-Ukraine dispute should be resolved through dialogue.

He said civil and military institutions are on same page and people of country are standing behind PTI government.

The Minister said entire nation strongly condemned the Peshawar blast and is standing united against such incidents.

He said investigation into Peshawar blast is under way and culprits would be traced out soon by the agencies.

He said many cricket teams had received threatening tweets from Indian soil during their Pakistan visit saying such conspiracies should be avoided and the two countries should move forward while the Kashmir dispute should also be resolved.

Fawad Hussain said Prime Minister Imran Khan had emerged as a true leader of the country as well as Muslim Ummah.

Information Minister said Pakistan is going to make a history again by holding the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation meeting on 22nd of this month.

Besides OIC, foreign ministers of other important countries would also be present in the country on Pakistan Day.

To a question, Chaudhry Fawad said purpose of making an amendment to Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act is to check propaganda and stop dissemination of hate material on print, electronic and social media.

Information Minister said PTI government will welcome Opposition's long march in twin cities, however it will be better if Long March reaches its destination after ongoing test match in Rawalpindi.

He said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is united under Prime Minister Imran Khan's leadership and negative tactics of opposition would fail.

He said PTI is the only political party in Pakistan which has presence in all provinces.

The Minister strongly condemned horse trading being done by opposition parties regarding the No Trust Movement, and said the opposition will fail in its designs.
