Karachi: Pakistan women team has been performing brilliantly in the ongoing 17th BFAME Championships winning seven matches, drawing one and losing only three matches in Ahmedabad, India.
The tournament, which started on June 4, is scheduled to conclude on June 11. India is at second spot and the two archrivals are scheduled to meet in the summit clash on Tuesday.
Pakistan team comprises of Captain Rubina Agha, Zeenat Azwer, Qudsia Dossa, Roshan Ara Bokhari, Rubina Saeed Hai and Fatima Raza.
Seven open and four women teams would be vying for the coveted Zakaria Adamjee and the Vinodini Goenka trophies respectively. Four seniors aged 60 + would also be playing alongside. After the initial triple Round Robin qualification rounds three matches a day of 16 boards each, semifinals of 64 boards 16×4 would be played to determine the finalists in the Open, while the top two teams in Women & Seniors would go straight in the finals after playing Quadruple Round Robin.
The finalists in each category, i.e. two teams each from the Open for the 41st Bermuda Bowl and two teams from the Women for the 19th Venice Cup and two teams from the seniors for the 7th Seniors Bowl would be representing this Zone and their respective countries in Bali, Indonesia later this year.
