Karachi: Pakistan women cricket team recorded a formidable ninewicket victory against host Ireland in the semifinals of ICC Women’s World Twenty20 Qualifier on Monday in Dublin and has qualified for the tournament proper to be held next year in Bangladesh.
Host Ireland batted first in the match and put on board a measly total of 65 runs losing all of its wickets in 19.5 overs. Kim Garth played an unbeaten inning of 38 runs as none of her teammate reached a double figure. Sadia Yousuf bowled lethally and captured a fourwicket haul.
Pakistan women in response easily reached the victory total in 14.1 overs with nine wickets in hand. Opener Javeria Khan played an unbeaten knock of 34 runs. Sadia received player of the match award for her fourwicket haul.
In the final, Pakistan would face the winners of the other semifinal match between Sri Lanka and Netherlands on July 31.
