KARACHI: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan has said that combating challenges of terrorism and extremism is not only the responsibility of government but also of every segment of society.
“Success in this regard can be get through joint efforts,” the governor said while talking to a delegation headed by Dr Mohammad Asad Thanvi who called on him at Governor House. Ibad said that the role of ulema have been significant in maintenance of peace in the province. He said that Ulema had always supported the government in every difficult time, booting the government steps.
“The terrorists are playing with human lives. Conspiracies are being hatched to deteriorate peace in the province, including Karachi, in a bid to weaken the country economically. The government is utilisation all resources to eliminate handful of elements, having certain mentally, who are acting on anti-state agenda.”
He said that Pakistan is playing frontline role in war against terrorism as a result, more losses had been suffered. Pakistan government is playing isolated role to protect the world, he added. “The terrorists have spread across the country and in this situation, whole nation would have to support the government. There is also need to point out those terrorists who are deteriorating situation in Pakistan,” the governor asserted.
