Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif met a delegation of FATA senators who called on him at Prime Minister’s Office on Thursday. The over political situation with special focus on the law and order situation in the country and FATA came under discussion during the meeting.
The Prime Minister stressed the need for mainstreaming FATA and bringing it at par with the rest of the country. He added that his government is committed to work for economic and social uplift of FATA and to improve the living standard of the people of those areas.
The overall political situation and the presidential elections were also discussed during the meeting.
Those who called on the Prime Minister included Mr Abbas Khan Afridi, Engr Malik Rashid Ahmed, Haji Khan Afridi, Mr Hidayat Ullah, Mr Hilalur Rehman, Malik Najamul Hassan, Mr Muhammad Idrees Khan and Mr Muhammad Saleh Shah.
Mr Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Minister for Finance and Mr Pervaiz Rashid, Minister for Information, were also present in the meeting.
