Karachi: Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) has challenged in Sind High Court (SHC) the caretaker set-up in Sind province. PML-F leaders Jam Madad Ali and Nusrat Bano Saher Abbasi filed petition against caretaker set-up, submitting that Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) all times remained the part of the government and the governor of province also belongs to this party.
They said that member of the opposition in provincial assembly had unanimously nominated Nusrat Bano Saher Abbasi to be the opposition leader of Sind Assembly and moved an application to the speaker provincial assembly in this regard. They said that for a considerable time their application was kept in pending and the nominated opposition leader not appointed.
They said that MQM and Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) in order to facilitate the caretaker set-up of their own choice hatched a conspiracy and MQM parted its ways from the government. They submitted that MQM was allotted opposition benches and opposition leader was nominated in the provincial assembly from this former coalition party.
They prayed to court to declare the current caretaker set-up in province in violation of related laws.
