QUETTA: A Closing Ceremony of Police Training in Balochistan by Pakistan Army was held in Quetta Cantt on Wednesday. Speaker Balochistan Assembly Jan Muhammad Jamali was the chief guest of the ceremony. Commander Southern Command Lieutenant General Nasser Khan Janjua, Deputy Speaker Balochistan Assembly, Minister for Home & TA, Chief Secretary Balochistan, IG FC, IG Police and a large gathering of senior civil and military officers were present on the occasion.
On the direction of Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani an eight week anti-terrorism training course for 200 personnel of Police and Balochistan Constabulary was successfully conducted by Pakistan Army in Quetta Cantt to impart specialized anti-terrorism.
Commander Southern Command Lieutenant General Nasser Khan Janjua underlined the need of highest level of training of law enforcement agencies owing to the challenging security environments in Balochistan. He said that Pakistan Army has arranged high quality training for both Police and Rapid Response Group. He lauded the enthusiasm of trainees who participated in the course and wished that the same standard of professionalism will be displayed in real situations. He said today’s demonstration reflects a very high standard of training. General Nasser also appreciated the efforts of training teams of 33 Division, 41 Division and SSG. He added that besides training, Pakistan Army has handed over modern weapons and ammunition to Balochistan Police to enhance their capacity. Commander Southern Command informed that Pakistan Army will conduct another course of training for Police this year and four courses will be run in 2014.
Speaker Balochistan Assembly Mir Jan Muhammad Jamali appreciated the efforts and thanked Pakistan Army for conducting an excellent training for Police and Balochistan Constabulary. He congratulated the participants of the course and urged them to maintain the high standard of training they have achieved. He announced a special package for the trainees who completed specialized training.
