KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf PTI Central Media Cell Karachi spokesperson Faisal Vawda accused PMLN of presenting ineffective policies in a hurry.
In a statement on Tuesday, Faisal said, “They have started implementing their privatization policy by selling 26% of PIA’s shares. Their policies after getting loans from IMF seem to be against the national interest. They want to privatize national institutions in order to please their devotees and several influential people. PIA is a national asset and its privatization would be inappropriate.”
Vawda said that the government should work for the revival of national institutions instead of worshiping their self-centred desires. He reminded that the existing government formulated a board of directors for PIA’s resurgence whose chief was a dual national and had to resign after Supreme Court’s action.
Vawda demanded a detailed report regarding the board and said, “It is amazing that they come to power and take their businesses to heights but the national economy goes down during their governance. PIA used to be our national brand among International Airline companies. It used to contribute to Pakistan’s economy.”
It had supported a few International Airline Companies to develop. Now those companies are on their boom but PIA is facing tough times. PTI opposes Cabinet’s decision to privatize PIA and demand the issue to be discussed in National Assembly so as to take all stakeholders on board for a better and nation friendly conclusion.”
