Reckitt Benckiser Pakistan Ltd held conferences in Lahore and Islamabad by the name of The GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease) Forum as part of its continued medical education program.
The events were both attended by leaders in the field of gastroenterology, gynaecology and general medicine, with lectures by Prof Dr Zafar Iqbal Ch (Professor of Internal Medicine, Jinnah Hospital) in Lahore, and Brig (r) Dr M. Iqbal (Chief Gastroenterologist, Quaid-e-Azam International Hospital) in Islamabad, both highlighting new developments in managing GERD.
The discussion was based around the recent paper published in the Journal of Pakistan Medical Association (JPMA) which highlights the importance of Alginate compounds as the first line of treatment for GERD.
This unique conference was organised in order to create awareness about advancements in medicine and for medical practitioners to gain first-hand knowledge of new techniques and treatments for GI health.
