Russia has renewed an appeal to the Libyan factions to sit down at the negotiating table to resolve the crisis in the country.
"There is no alternative to the negotiation process in Libya, and all parties should pursue dialogue to find a solution to the current crisis," First Deputy Chief of the Russian Government Executive Office Sergei Prikhodko.
He was quoted by Russia Today TV as saying that there should be a unified constitutional foundation in Libya, which allows general elections in the country.
"We call on all Libyan parties engaged in the national consensus to show good gestures, and to work to overcome differences for the sake of creating a new Libya," the Russian official added
