SALU hosts lecture on Bhutto

Khairpur, Sindh: A one-day lecture was held at Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU) Khairpur organized by Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Chair (SBBC) on Wednesday. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Syed Mahmood Ali Shah Professor Emeritus University of Baluchistan, Quetta on “Zulfikar Ali Bhutto: as I Know Him”.

Dr. Shah in his lecture remarked that Zulfikar Ali Bhutto redirected the foreign policy of Pakistan, maintained good links with Muslim world and China. He said Bhutto was architect of the concept of Bilateralism and the pioneer of atomic program of Pakistan.

He said effective land reforms policy was initiated during his tenure, the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC), release of prisoners of 1971 War go to his credit. He said Bhutto provided a viable platform for democracy. He loved to peasant and labors. He played the dynamic role in the United Nation’s forum. Due to his democratic policies the reactionary forces were against his policies.

Director of SBBC Prof Dr. Amir Ahmed Khuhro highlighted the objectives of establishment of the Chair at University. A large number of teachers and students attended the seminar.
